The Test of Time

The Test of Time

Time takes its toll, and it really doesn't care
In the past its brought me a lot of bad news,I'm surprised I've still got hair
Its been ticking away at my family, and the lives that they have had
Its made me say goodbye to all of them, including Mum and Dad
When I met my lady, she said I never had a wrinkle, but now the bastards have caught me up and gave me a wrinkle sprinkle
 Inside,your a young lad,not changed a bit,but in the mirror,your changing daily,into an old git
I've just seen my reflection,I wasn't so impressed,times hit me with a cricket bat,and now I'm a bloody mess
I'd like Mr Time,to ease up on the breaks, and hold back for a little while
And let me enjoy the family I have, cos they really make me smile
