The Trackway

The Trackway

The Trackway

Although largely gone
A fragment of
The old trackway still remains
When in medieval and more recent
Times villages were connected in
This way.

And even now their
Beaten way
Hearkens back to a
Time in which

The route through
Life was slower
Yes, we succumbed to death,
And sex (unspoken of course)

Counterbalanced the dying.
That was the route we took:
Thatched roofs and fireplaces
Travelling, on horseback

As was needed
To different places.
It's of course the case
That these days

Have been and gone
But sone vestiges-
Tracks and footpath
(Where we're going)

Carry on to this day.

Seen enough,
To know not...
