The Tree of Life

Not a plant at all,
this tree of life
to beings from
sprout to fall.

The heart around our own
that grows for it’s inner pulse.
Compelled to pull sprouts' weeds
until they are grown.

The roots, being beginning
instead of end,
teach lessons
to seeds on grinning
and being human.
