The Valley of Heaven

The Valley of Heaven

Kashmir oh Kashmir,

The land belongs to the leopards and the musk deer
Once the valley of heaven from the shepards I hear
The sky belongs to the sparrows and the birds of air
Quiver your arrows and lower your weapons of warfare
The lakes belong to the lotus to blossom each year
July and August so awesome it nearly brings tears

Too many leaders today are far from kind
The good people I pray are not left behind
This is something that gnaws at my mind
We need to pause and hit rewind
An eye for an eye makes the world go blind
If this all goes awry I will lose my mind

Be the hero of the hour instead of the thief of the night
Remember true power is gained by winning without a fight
Then warriors remain not being brought down by a bullet's flight
Give us one word, "Peace" through this plight
Haven't you heard 2 wrongs don't make a right?
Be bigger than strong and show us your might

What went wrong? Too many are ado
The day is dreadfully long, I pray tomorrow anew
Love your sisters and brother as God loves you
One another, whether they be Muslim, Sikh, Jain or Hindu
In whatever you do
Forever and ever till forever is through
