The VIGIL --- Without a face

I peel the skin from my face
need to see the mistake underneath
I wear darkness as the first necklace
no sun shines as life reminds
 yesterdays cartoon blues

Wired
fixed
Alarmed
buried in a sidewalks lonesome advancing glance
Mimic seated against the glass shop fronts
strangers spinning weaving chains
in spoken speech

I Was running along by your side
until the ground found you to be made from borrowed sand
seasons blessed
in the breeze and frosted heart
hidden in the granite stone silent shroud
flowers were stolen to be raced
placed upon some scented sacred hound

Taken in the night's capture
kneeling within a rainy metal storm
love stalked ferocious in its killing
flayed and flesh brought into found
too late the grip has failed

Suicide
blended in my survival
decision bled in crystal
but seen bleeding on mornings flight

I peeled my face
wanted to view that mistake
yet nothing grew beneath

perhaps spelled deeper in me
but
Where has today
GONE
