The vulture culture

We live in a world of 2 for 1 deals
Caffeine shots and microwave meals
We all want everything and we want it all now
Cut the steak you want, bin the rest of the cow

When things break they're rarely mended
Soups always bought leftovers aren't blended
We have gardens in which no vegetables grow
We don't teach our children to knit or sew

To make clothes or repair them if they tore
Just throw them away and buy some more
We circle the shops like a hungry vulture
There's nothing we need it's just today's culture

The urge to buy and not to build
To eat out although your fridge is filled
So more food goes bad and goes to waste
Does this not leave a bitter taste

A taste of disappointment in what we've become
A society of throwaway scum
Who are always skint or so we moan
So it's off to the bank to extend that loan
