THE WAR OF THE ROSES

THE WAR OF THE ROSES

Upon a hill stood a castle
the battlements now crumbling
Sounds of swords clashing
death screams and mumbling
Blood soaked earth stained
but now flowers grow in abundance
The War of the roses the battle fought
with death of hundreds
Roses symbolized heraldic badges
one was white and one was red
The war between the royal houses
of Plantagenet`s this blood was shed
Many battles were fought
for control of the then, English throne
But a marriage between two royals
of both sides in the end did, atone
Two warring royals two roses and a
marriage, to end this thirty year war
All for control of a throne they fought
to the death, and much blood did pour

Hi Debs,

Sadly, what once was the "War of The Roses", has now become the "War of The Worlds".  The only thing that could possibly save it would be "a marriage of the minds".

Hugs, Peace and Love,

Hi Debs,

Well done for writing this piece sweetie. I too love to learn about our history and you clearly portray the importance of love and respect for life in this important piece. I love the way you have put this piece together and have shown how modern mankind needs to get their act into gear and stop fighting about greed and start respecting life in all its forms.

Well done sweetie for a beautifully well written and well thought out piece, I`m very proud of you, you are very talented and a great asset to the Cosmo family.

Lots of love

G xx

HI G  I loved writing this one i know it is a bit bloody
but i just love history, and again you see the heart of it
Not that only a marriage can end wars but i was trying to get across
maybe there are some simpler ways to end conflicts in this world
Thank you for seeing that, and thank you for your kind words
much love Debs xx
