The Way He Hurt You

~The Way He Hurt You~
Those deep dark eyes
So young and innocent
No need to repent
Alas it was a disguise
A smile so sweet
With lips made of gold
And your heart was sold
For him it was a repeat

He came out of the blue
Swept you off your feet
You missed a beat
And this is The Way He Hurt You

At first it was normal
The first date
Stayed out late
And it was all formal
He'd call every night
Never leave you on mute
Call you something cute
It all felt so right

Then something went askew
He'd leave you on read
Because like i said
This is The Way He Hurt You

No more goodnight love
He pushed you away
And led you astray
And gave you a shove
Down you went
Trapped and lost
He wasn't worth the cost
Your energy was spent

He made muse of you
Beat down and locked up
Treated like a small pup
This is The Way He Hurt You

Into the dark
The drugs and thugs
Crawling along the bugs
That scar is a birthmark
Or so he tells his friend
It's the mark of a snitch
As he says, shut up "bitch"
Never to break but always bend

The life he made you lose
He makes you drink
To the point you can't think
It was all just a ruse
I tried to warn you
It was all a fake
But you said i made a mistake
So this is "The Way He Hurt You"
