The way I love you

The way I love you

There's a calm before the storm,
A silent knowing of what's to come,
That's the way I knew you,
Cloudy and dull before I could see the sun.
There was an air of anticipation,
Like a wave before it hits the sand,
Just before the ocean collides with land.
But you were not a storm that thundered in,
Nor were you a wave crashing against the shore,
You were the gentlest breeze,
Filled with the scent of everything I need
And so much more.
