The whiskey

Silence surrounds me but the room is full

No one notices the tears in my eyes as I break my own rule

Never let no one get you down never let them make you cry

I sit here making excuses telling myself once again the whiskey made you black my eye

Last night replays in my head over and over again

As I laid on the cold tiles in the kitchen I thought to myself is this the end

Your grin still fresh in my mind you felt so proud

While you smiled a part of me died on that ground

Was it my heart that couldn't take it was it not strong enough

As I clinched to life I fought so hard but just wasn't that tough

Even in death you consume every part of me

I gave you three children but murdered how could this be

The room is silent but yet so full

All these heart broken people breaking their own rule

Never let no one get you down never let them make you cry

Please just tell our children the whiskey decided I should die
