The White Garden
Roses
White, pristine,
flowering in the garden
Making me notice the
dew drops,
That glimmer in the sun.
I try not to feel sad
By listening to my breath
the deep resonance of life
It calms the voice of mind
Of all the losses and pain
The separation memory
of sweetness
Of not being alone
I wore white
It was my statement
I held the flowers
Picked from my garden
You kissed my lips
You gazed into my heart
and whispered into my soul
God wept
and angels cried
I stopped breathing
Looking into a future
that took me away
Led me astray
Beside the white garden
Where fairies play
And now I lay

I love the one word start to this poem. It sort of catches the reader's attention straight away. There is a sadness underpinning this poem but you couch that sadness in some beautiful lines. "The deep resonance of life" "the separation memory" are both lovely lines. And I really like how the repeated rhyme at the end of your poem almost makes the reader feel like they are careering down a slope as they are reading it.
