Seagull
Hey seagull, you soar above me
Does it look better up there?
Can you see the world
with seagull eyes?
You fly so high 
Into the horizon
Making me squint my eyes 
to the sun
I wonder if you know what is coming?
I wonder if you know how long?
For today you are a creature 
That instructs me on flying
The wind billowing and lifting your
wings
Like a sailing ship of old
You ride the sea winds and soar
over the oceans and continents too.
Your quest is seen as a boast
Take me with you oh jovial sea bird
Change my arms into wings
So that I too can float on the  sea air
casting my fate on the wind and sky
Let me watch as history unfolds
As the march to the catastrophe comes
Creeping up on us like a house cat
playing with her catnip soaked toy
I am calm and undone at the same time
i am horrified and elated with joy
THe purpose for my existence is come
To cheer the changes hard won
To float in the sky all aloneOh
