The Wind Whispered

The Wind Whispered

Softly, mournfully, icily it moves,
sweeping the leaves away, like
discarded, forgotten memories.
Down soulless alleys of dusty promises
once made, then lost and abandoned.
Blow wildly, bluster and gust
relentless in the pursuit of banishment.
Like loves own pledge
made with hope and belief,
but now, blown away ,like
a windswept leaf.

Thank you so much Sir Nigel...I was sitting in the garden this morning   and the wind was whipping up a hoolie around me and for the first time in an age I really felt the need to put  something down in writing..which to be honest   when there is a drought for inspiration  shouldn't be ignored...ever! so I am particularly pleased it came out as it did..Thank you so much for your kind words...Lady L xxx
