Poem -
The wiseman
The wiseman spoke clear and slow,
"we are all terminal dont you know,
All we have is the here and now,
stop worrying about the when and how.
Clear your mind, then take that chance.
live your life....learn to dance.
Worrying it wont get you far,
it wont get that job or dream car.
You cant control what others do,
nor how they preceive you.
Make your choices by what feels right.
Live with love and spread your light.
Tomorrow isnt here yet.
So leave behind fear and regret.
We are all terminal dont you know.
All we have is the here and now."
He said this then walked away.
His words forever with me shall stay.

The pace, the rhyme and the way you carried the poem along worked. Maybe I'm just overly sentimental, but poems that can capture a person's heart is worthy of a pin.

Man Oh Man there are some great poems on COSMO today and this is certainly one of them...... in fact, I can hear this as a song quite easily..... at has great metering and repetition of the main Chorus .......and it delivers a powerful message.......ALL STARS!!..... well done dear poet brother..... and..... in case no one has said so........WELCOME to COSMO!!.......LOVE & ROCKETS!!........T xo. : )
Sorry Sammy...I just read your profile..... didn't know you had been on here for a year now..... so cool that you're a singer/songwriter......that's precisely what I do..... in fact I'm going into the studio in a couple of weeks at EVENFORM Studios in RALEIGH NC....... fun place to record......I look forward to reading more of your stuff......I didn't know this before I read your poem... makes sense now that I heard it as a song!!...... stay groovy girlfriend...... smiles....T xo. : )
I love writing and singing yet i have never been able to experience a studio. :(. How ever in the new year i am planning on doing it. It is hard that i dont play an instrument with enough confidence or conviction yet. But practiceing everyday so i can play what i hear when i write.
