Their Weight In Gold
Summoned again,
To my workplace.
By superb people,
I can't embrace.
A distant chat,
But a lengthy one.
This virus reality,
We'll all overcome.
Tomorrow morning,
Early and bright.
I leave my abode,
With sheer delight.
On quiet roads,
I'll venture on.
Don't Stop blaring,
A Fleetwood Mac song.
That kettles on,
For Assam tea.
When I arrive,
Awaiting for me.
For duty calls,
A museum to protect.
Exhibits to look after,
And people to respect.
Good friends I've got
The salt of the earth.
Their weight in gold,
Is what they're worth.

What a lovely poem! Full of positivity and warmth. Love it 🌹x
This reminds the reader the value of friendship, and human contact. To appreciate what we have in life, that possibly before felt trivial and overlooked
pinned because it speaks so much about what we all should be taking from this time. Wonderful Shaun. Oh and a museum WOW 🤩
Gwen :)
This is indeed a beauty Shaun. It shines with inner peace and belonging and the joy of life's simple and greatest blessings. I envy your contentment and I'm happy for you also...hugs 💕
Tina again many thanks and just for the record I count myself so fortunate to work with not just friends but family as we call ourselves.
And again for the record I respected their privacy by not putting up a pic of our happy lot and the pic shown above is of only a small part of St Fagan's National Museum of History which proudly stands on 106 acres of land.
That picture shows The Dutch Gardens outside its castle and when its quiet and on my dinner break I'll feed the wildlife and write a poem (however bad!)
on one of its benches.
I guess I'm prattling on a tad but I love working there among so many caring and uplifting friends/staff and so very fortunate to do so.
A great respected place filled with great and respected people.
So I thank you again Tina and you are most welcome to visit and become enthralled!❤️
love uplifting writes! or why else do we write, to uplift others or self evaluation?........................................Jim
Awww I missed this but found it brilliantly 💕💙💕
