Then, and Now

So I guess we've run out of time,
Your longing face refuses to look,
Back into my eyes,
Reaching out into the darkness,
Lost in space and time,
Why are your hands are so hard to find,
I'm sitting alone,
On the doorsteps too your home,
But I know you haven't been here in such a long time,
Your tears still petrified in my mind,
I just wanted to say I've put the empty bottle,
Down for the last time,
I know you've gone away,
But I still can't get you off my mind,
Maybe these words will be carried far away,
And reach your sweet ears,
So you know I live in guilt everyday,
For making you cry that day
