Don't be too quick

Today, I don’t know how I’m feeling.
Is everyone against me,
Or am I just imagining it all?
Questions, one after another—
Defend myself, or be walked all over?

Moody they say?

They whine all the time, and all I want is to defend myself.
Talking behind my back or to my face—
I can’t trust anyone, except my cousin,
But even then, I have to watch what I say.
Annoying people bragging about their wages,
Like it’s something to be proud of.
My son, calming me with his soothing voice—
I see freedom in his eyes,
No boundaries holding him back.

Don’t be too quick to make frenemies!
But whatever they don’t do jack for you.
