These hands

These hands

The hands of a worker,
the window to a soul
an identity forged
a pride gained
a purpose found,
these hands are a lesson
of life fulfilled.
The hands that labour,
those hardening features
they speak to the mind
appeal to the heart
seeking kindered spirits,
these hands are a story
that wants to be told.
The hands that toil,
they have seen hardships
endured life's struggles
but still remain
strong and silent,
these hands are eyes
of the tear never shed.
The hands of skill,
a source of wonder
to repair and build
sow and reap
yet forever humble,
these hands are a tribute
to the unsung hero.
The hands that love,
they are what nurture
they are what guide
they reassure
they cradle
they feed,
these hands they are
humanity's tool.
