They Say, I say
I was told not to hold on to what is not mine
But not on my left or right hand
But in both hands I held on
Holding on tight I still did
It is mine
I was warned to let go
It hurts, it burns, it bites, it kills
But through my thoughts I locked it in
Locking it hidden, I grew and it grew
No I wont let go
Selfishly, I was noted to be crazy
Dreams are crazy but true,
I was told to forget
It runs in reality
In me it runs in my blood
I memorised every minute of it
A memory, not forgettable
No I’m not crazy
I been judged as desperation at its best cost
But I still stood claiming,
I still stood and creating my way forward
Hands closed, thoughts locked, memories created
I felt it all growing, I grew
No I’m not desperate
I was adviced to give up
Am I nuts? Are you lost?
No word written on this earth as a choice to give up
Directions were swollen from better to temptation
I passed through best temptations
Gave in deeply
No I wont give up
I attracted, I collected,
I created, I planned and built
I renovated, I invested
In that dream alone
From a reality to a fantasy now a dream
I am not giving out!
they said, But I say....to be continued

Greetings Valerie, :-) . Thank you so much. Will make sure I keep writing. Thank you for motivating me to keep writing. Much appreciated.
Oh this is indeed beautiful and complex poetry....Bridgette it compels the reader to ponder the conclusion, to this brilliant stream, you really rock the internal dialogue....I'm def. learning a thing or two from how you wrote this and your 'hit the road'  approach to poetry in general, very freeing and fearless....cheers Â
