This Town

This Town

People in this Town, repeat cliché's like midless Parrots.
Staring at the sky, as the first raindrops hit.
"Welp we need this moisture, It's as dry as a bone"
And that's when I dawn, my protective headphones.
-------------------------------------------------------------
I can still hear the 'white noise', seeping through my Pink Floyd sound,
"That feller in the White House, gonna turn this Country around"
"He's gonna build a wall! Thank God that we are free!"
"How about them Patriots?...21 to 3!"
------------------------------------------------------------
"Ya know the Sun does set, and the Wind does die down"
"But oil my friend ya see, keeps my Truck covering ground!"
They look at me and say, "He aint one of us"
"He ain't from around here, Must have missed his Bus"
-----------------------------------------------------------
I like my friends on line, and have issues to discuss.
But when I share what I have learned, They just think I'm nuts.
I swim in a pool of ignorance, fearful I might drown.
Working, slaving and saving. for the day that I can leave this Town.
----------------------------------------------------------
I'll go streight home from work, Than I watch T.V.
I like the "Wheel of Fortune" and than it's "Jeopardy"
Most people agrue, but on one thing, we all agree,...
Is that I hate this Town,...And this Town hates me.

Thank you for your comment Tony.
"Without fresh water, the pool turns stagnate"
Of course not everyone in this Town is full of 'White Noise' ... It's just the ones that are bother me the most.
I know that I still have a lot to learn. But I do know when I am frustrated about things it is best to find an audience that would identify and appreciate my sarcasm.

Thank you Cherie,
So relieved that others can share in my humor, I do try to be humble and not judgmental, But I cannot stop myself from being observant.
I laugh at the thought of you in my 'neck of the woods' But I am so happy to find Poets and creative people like you and the many others on this site.
Yes I believe that we are all connected to each other.  Regardless of your prefered name of a supreme being.  But hey,...without darkness in my life, I would have never noticed the bright lights that my fellow Poets shine.

Shine on Cherie!
your warmth and positive vibes are needed in this World.
