How Her Scars Became

How Her Scars Became

As she lay there with blood trickling down her leg,

She can hear those kids again..laughing in her head.

They're all screaming and shouting, "You're better off dead!"

She won't eat, can't sleep, and refuses to take her meds.

If she can't sleep,

She thinks, "They might as well take away my bed."

It's the next day at school,

She's feeling a little better.

But when she gets into class,

She faces a double-header.

Two guys pin her down,

And another tries to rape her.

The teacher came in,

and she made them regret.

In the hospital she was at rest,

But she couldn't rest because she was going

completely insane.

She thought she was a complete monster,

She thought she was the one to blame.

She took her toothbrush, snapped it in half,

and slit her veins.

The doctors came rushing in,

She screamed, "You let them get away!!"

And now today she says, " That's how my

scars became."

This is my life story…I had to get it out in my writing. It was only a year ago when this happened to me. That's why I have writing, music, and drawing for my therapy.
