A thought Given to A Cold Evening

The wind whispers her name
In the scattering of snow
Moving across icy fields;
Like powder blowing from my hand
Painfully cold is the evening
Yet I stand, transfixed, unmoving
Gazing at the shimmering distant lights
Clouds in colours that seem so surreal
Shadows casting out fingers
Colder than Mars, it seems-- on this night
One time I saw magic in the sky out here
Stars falling down, millions in the atmosphere
Fear filled me then; was it the end of the world?
And I wasn't ready to go home to heaven.
Now I feel like destinies’ ill fated other child,
Bound to live a life not of my choosing
Love is a mad Ferris Wheel, and has no soul;
Unless Cupid is real, and sleeping somewhere
In the grandest possibilities of a desperate heart
I close my eyes.

Lily Mae, thank you for saying that, perhaps we are I can't say....honestly I'm coming to the conclusion that you may not be aware of how brilliant a poet you are, and that thought makes me over-joyed; there's nothing more uninspiring than a great poet who thinks they are a great poet....I've had my moments, but I don't recall every writing anything better than you, just saying....thanks for the shot in the arm though, lolÂ
omg! Merrill thank you bro. Â I had a problem before I saw your comment; I have six warm Caribs and I was thinking should I have two tonight or save for tomorrow? Nah! Â Tonight it is, cheers partners...stay dangerous! Â
Honorable VIP Christopher Correia,

Williamsji, you made me smile; Honorable VIP Christopher Correia; thank you so very much; Most Honorable VIP Williamsji Maveli; do you know that you're the first person on this site to ever make a comment on the first poem I ever posted here? Â I'm not a humble man, but this is the closest I've ever been, thank you again for reading my work
Cherie your comments are incredible, yeah I wrote this poem a few years ago and modify it whenever I come across it, honestly I've never found the tone cynical, until you pointed that out, and you're right I saw that for the first time....I know what inspired the write, but it is not how I usually write; linear.....when you say that the sky once held magic and now seems cold, even that Cherie, I had not picked up on before....this comment is easily the most insightful comment I've ever received, I feel like I should pay you for this, honestly... suffice it to say, I appreciate you reading my work...have good eveningÂ
clink! clink! I just dropped two shiney brand new, beautiful Canadian quarters into the Cherie PayPal account, I'll keep you up to date, as it gets closer to the 750 US goal, lol
Wow...Chris..You're poem is so moving....sounds of a broken heart...."love is a mad Ferris Wheel has no soul......'....so moving...
You've captured the essence of a love...and loss it seems..."the desperate heart".. wonderful visual ...when you close your eyes...you are there in the cold field...almost feel the cold myself....
Beautiful write Christopher!! Â
Have a great life and writing journey :)
