Poem -

Thoughts

A cacophony of desire, love and pride;

The human mentality with these particular ways,

Senseless in a hostile world so undefined,

Leaves thoughts obscured by a purple haze.

"What is the meaning of life?" countless wonder,

The question where logic is impossible to apply,

The question which tears people and logic asunder,

The question that leaves the hardiest just able to cry.

We label ourselves with greed, death and destruction,

In a world with no objective, no meaning, no name,

When logic encourages selflessness; construction,

Instead of hatred, violence and shame.

But time will progress.

And the world will remain the same.

"If humanity forms itself primarily on pride,

Where is the pride in self-indulgence?

Ismail…I really enjoyed this write.  Like the way you began the poem…much sound:  "cacophony" of thoughts formed in pride.  Well done!

Many thanks for the review, it's great to have other people, especially poets reading and commenting on my poems (well, the one anyway)! Even if I don't consider poetry as a first profession, I'll still do it for the enjoyment!
