Thoughts That Grow

Am I obsessed ?
Paranoid ?
I must confess
I’m not too sure.
For my brain,
Dopamine deficient
Can take a thought
Be it wrong or right
Like a seed
And cultivate it
Feeding it
Growing it
Breathing life into it.
Too scared to let it out
It takes on a life form
Of its own
Before I know
It has branches
It has leaves
My initial thought
Has turned into
A tree.
What a terrible disease!
For what now?
Do I still feed it
Give it what it
Still needs ?
Or try to
Save myself
Break the curse
Cut down the tree
And kill the thoughts,
That are killing me.
