Tiger!
Over 55 tons of Krupp steel,
Ploughing relentlessly on.
In a tight wedge formation,
A heavily armoured echelon.
88mm mounted in its turret,
Respecting no enemy at all.
Destroying all in its path,
No matter how big or small.
The most fearsome behemoth,
On any bloody battlefield.
And when it breaks cover,
A deadly Tiger now revealed.
In Normandy's dense bocage,
It inflicted death and pain.
But a battlefield supremacy,
It could never truly attain.
An infantryman's radio call,
To a circling baneful Typhoon.
A rocket firing avenging angel,
So mercilessly spelt its doom.
At Kursk it took another hiding,
And the Panther and Elephant.
By fearless Russian tactics,
A proud victory most relevant.
For after this vast tank battle,
The German initiative was lost.
Stalin holding the upper-hand,
Losing the war was Hitler's cost.
Dedicated to Max.

I am finding these WWII writes intriguing! You have a great flair for poetry. For making something as devastating as war into a poem is very clever x
Tina many thanks for your kind and gracious comment and this for now is the last of them.
As I said to Jill I never lose sight of what was lost overthrowing tyranny.
Thanks again and remain poetry blessed.
Hi Shaun! I really love this on, you know your work really reminds me of a famous and Aussie writer Mathew Riley, so much action and straight to the point. Bloody brilliant stuff my friend. Again your too kind for the Kudos ;). Thanks again my friend. Smiles. Max
Blimey Max many thanks and I know about Matthew Reilley and read all his books Ice Station, Temple and all the Scarecrow ones too he's got a brilliant imagination.
And if you like him, read The Breach by Patrick Lee and its sequels Ghost Country and Deep Sky.
The Breach, his debut novel, will knock your socks off, it is Matthew Reilly taking a speed overdose!
His imagination and writing staggers me.
A brilliant read that I've reread many times, for its that good and frenetic.
Thanks again Max glad you enjoyed it your friend Shaun.
