Time

Time

Time

You placed your loving prayer in my hand
Time goes by with the passing grains of sand

Only time can bring me the love I truly desire
It takes two loving hearts and sets them afire

Oh time it seems that I’ve been waiting so long
For someone to come and to sing their song

My king-sized bed is empty but for me
I need someone to set my lonely heart free

Time sometimes seems to be not on my side
Yet I still manage to carry my foolish pride

I watch as time passes slowly through the hourglass
And wonder when I am going to find happiness at last

So many sad and lonely tears go passing by
If I had true love there would be no reason to cry

There’s so much loneliness my poor heart has endured
That I will find my love my heart needs to be reassured

My fond memories are clouded by the shadows
Day by day the hurt comes and the hurt goes

I have waited what seems for so ever a long time
Waiting for a special love that I can call all mine

I say my prayers nightly by glowing candlelight
That someone will come and warm my chilly night

Time is of the essence in this waiting game
If I don’t find love it will be a crying shame

Time can you become a caring friend of mine
See love to my door and allow it to shine

My love somewhere over the earth it lies
On the wings of a heavenly angel as he flies
