Time to Break Free

Time to Break Free

Early in the morning.
Just about sunrise.
I check my image in the mirror.
Pour myself some coffee.
Drag the sleep from my eyes.
And ask myself, "Why am I still here?"
Lately I find myself,
Staring down the road
There's something calling out for me.
It's time to travel,
It's time to move along.
And it's time to break free.
(*)(*)
Chasing my dreams.
Can be unpredictable.
Iv'e had distractions along the way.
And I learnd that time and trust.
Can bo so valuable.
So don't ask me to give them away.
Latley I find myself,
Staring down the road.
There's someting waiting there for me.
It's time to free myself.
It's time to break some chains.
Yes it's time to break free.
(*)(*)
I'm reminded of a lady.
At a karaoke bar.
Lord could that woman sing!
I wonder what she is doing?
Could she be a star?
Could I be part of her dream?
What are the chances,
That she is staring down the road?
Could she be calling out for me?
It's time to pack my clothes.
And pack up my guitar.
And it's time to break free.
(*)(*)

I think this poem/song is saying your passion is for music to follow
your dreams with it I enjoyed ,Now we need the music to go with it :-)

Thank you Debs. Yes everything I have so far on my page are songs and I have the music to match them. At this point I have no way to record them but in the future I will. I realy apprecate your comment and enjoy your page too.

Hey Dan i am drinking a cup of coffee while I am reading your poem. This is a great piece it does sound like song lyrics but if I were singing people would be leaving ,my voice is not the best lol . I think everyone stares down that looking to find that one true love. Very cool write . Cheers rock

Thank you Hardrocklover. I always concidered myself to be a writer and guitarest that sings. I have a few slide show / videos with my singing and playing out there on the net.  However I lost the ability to record MP3's. So I am back in the "writing lyrics zone" As I read your writing I am truly impressed and inspired!      ( hoping a little of the talent will rub off on me )

Keep on Rockin! :) Dan

Thank you for your comment Cherie. True there is no reward without risk. One thing I promised myself was to never sit in a rocking chair and tell myself "If I would tried a little harder I could have done great things"

I just read your "That Ship Has Sailed" and thought what a great poem! Well arranged with rhythm and words....that were unique and unfamiler to me.
