Time To Man Up

Finally in high school and only four years left to go
Football  games and parties too, you know
So excited about this new chapter in my young life
I have so much to live for and sharp as a knife
Goals of graduating then marrying my queen
Of course starting a job after the life of a teen
Can't rush into marriage! It's too much for me
Oh my goodness, did you just call me dad to be
What do I do now with no diploma nor career
We were doing so good, now our future is unclear
We must get married and work whatever we can
This is all too fast! I just don't understand
Why couldn't we wait for just a few more years
After graduating and starting on our careers
Our career plans will just have to be delayed
I am so disappointed in myself and very afraid
My parents will help until we can get on welfare
They are really saddened but they will always care
We will love this baby and raise it the best we can
It's gonna be hard but it's time for me to be a man
