Poem -

time to stand

to Jeremy Hennessey

time to stand

laying
face
down
Gunsmoke
suffocatingĀ
theĀ
air
mud
soiling
the
skin
the
brow
of sweat
and blood
left
indistinguishableĀ
it
is time
for you
to
stand

you
owe
no
penanceĀ Ā
to the
One
his
walk
is
set
by
his own
strengthĀ
to
bare

Great protector
take
my
hand

timeĀ
to cross
the fields
beyond
the battlegroundĀ
and ifĀ
you
can'tĀ
go
alone
as your
friend
Let me
guide
You
To
destiny
Ā
