Time Travel

If I was asked if I could travel back
i would probably shake my head
and take a step back

If I was asked if I 
could change one thing
I'd deny, say things are as they are

If I went back I wouldn't
ask to change a single thing
I'd simply watch everything

But not the bad
for my mind always plays that
I know the worse of my past

No, I would wish to only see the good
to look at times that didn't last
at the happiness I had

I would look to days
where I thought the day
would never end

To the days I knew 
that it wouldn't be the last
day to bring smiles to my face

I would watch the days
where I saw my mom's smile
and heard her laugh

I would wish to see the days
my siblings were born
when I knew they would be okay

I would simply smile 
as I watch the days when 
me and my sister still bonded well

When I wasn't scared
of what the next day would bring
and when I could count on everyone

Before I saw how fake 
my little world was
and the pain settled in

When I met my dearest friends
and we laughed everyday
always seeing the best

Before my life
was flipped over
and still some days after

For I would want to see
the day I met my father
and realized he always loved me

And of course the birth of each 
of my brothers which 
I mentioned before

To meeting family 
I never knew I had and laughing
with people now gone at last

If you asked me to go back
I would say but only to watch
the good that happened 

For I know if I changed one thing
then maybe I wouldn't be 
the me that we all see today

The woman that I'm proud
to say I am with every fiber 
of my being
