To be loved
Love like her

Her love, so pure
like crisp dew
On a sun filled morning.
Gushing from her heart
an old well
unwilling to be buried
slowly drying up.
And taken by thieves
in search of what she holds.
Instead robbing her soul
With evil intentions
Planting rotten seeds
killing her crops
she's nurtured for years.
Tirelessly,
builds up a wall
Protect what's left
Like precious jewels
Hidden in dirt
Waiting to be found
polished as she deserves
Lifting her soul
Matching her purity
She once gave away
Breaking her free
To be loved
Just as she gave

A wonderful piece of a gold buried in sand.
Thank you for your kind words. I sometimes suffer from lack of confidence but thrive off feedback from other poets.
Love this, calming for me, interesting perspective of 3rd person too, makes it stand out in the sea of poems for me. Best wishes. TFOTS
Very thankful for you taking the time to read and respond. I am as amateur as it gets but find that writing puts me at peace. I enjoy sharing with other poets that have different skill levels but share the same interest in writing poetry.

XD, no fuss Rick! They say that life is a journey and we continue to learn even after school, that's why I belive we are all amateurs here! Poetry is an amazing format too, I like how unique you can make it and how it can be very therapeutic for some people. I'm glad it brings you peace! The best way we can improve is too keep writing!best wishes. TFOTSÂ
