"To Begin Again"

"To Begin Again"

"To hear The Evil,
and then,
take a step back,
sounds a lot,
like the panic,
that first responders,
get,
when responding to a heart attack.

I've been buried,
in my front yard,
for two whole years.
Set right beside me,
lay my eyes,
and a jar of tears.

Can you remember,
where you were at,
when addiction,
rooted into your bones,
and turned your heart,
to solid stone?

It took what it took.
Heaven swept winds,
shook loose my bones.
Those tree trumpets,
called me from,
my underground home.

Dusting off sich,
a sad state of affairs,
and learning,
that some really care,
if you are there,
instead of back,
in your ill kept dirt home,
will make you feel,
a little less alone,
but remember addiction,
is still wired,
deep within,
and might resemble,
that of Sin's Twin,
but you don't,
have to let it win.
Put those substances down!
Now the real work begins!"
