To hell with the hood

I have stayed in this hood
Eaten in this
been taken care of in this hood
But I promise you
I am going out of this hood

The hood failed to give what it promised
It killed my innocence
I know the hood helped me become who I am
But I am never gonna die in the hood
The hood has hurt and healed me
I share tragic and good memories with this hood
My dad died in the hood mom taken out of the hood
How powerless my brother and I were to face and overcome the the hood
But I am now strong enough to face the hood
