TO KNOW YOU

TO KNOW YOU

Oh, to know of Jesus
To know the sweetness of Your grace
That in the depths of my sorrow
It was then, I sought Your face
How can I know how to trust You
If my sorrows, were but light
How can my faith learn to grow
If I never knew of darkest night
If my path was always easy
If I had no depths of need
Oh why then, would I call out to You
If I had no cause to plead
But I've tasted of Your faithfulness
I sought Your presence there
You taught me how to hold on
And the power of spoken prayer
I know of Your tender mercies
How You've helped me to taste and see
The goodness of my God
That always surrounds me
Now, my eyes look up to heaven
Now, I know that You will hear
Now, I know that I can trust You
And I have no reason to fear
Always drawing me closer
You tenderly hear my prayer
I learned to know and call on You
I have learned that You are there
Everyday, I am learning
Of how close You are to me
You have captured my heart
I have learned to trust in Thee
