TO THE STATISTICIANS

To the statisticians he was just one moreĀ
Another person to be added to their total score
A special box on their spreadsheet for sureĀ
For this person was curled up under a shop doorĀ

To the statisticians he wasn't odd or strangeĀ
Would be inputted in the over fifty age rangeĀ
A little further down and the view was the same
Treated as before a number and not a nameĀ

To the statisticians who gather informationĀ
They wonder what's happening to our nationĀ
For at the end of their shift their stats completeĀ
Thirty homeless people in just one empty street
