TO THE STATISTICIANS

To the statisticians he was just one more 
Another person to be added to their total score
A special box on their spreadsheet for sure 
For this person was curled up under a shop door 

To the statisticians he wasn't odd or strange 
Would be inputted in the over fifty age range 
A little further down and the view was the same
Treated as before a number and not a name 

To the statisticians who gather information 
They wonder what's happening to our nation 
For at the end of their shift their stats complete 
Thirty homeless people in just one empty street
