Poem -

Tomorrow

When I was a child,

they told me

not everyone's going to like you-

there's always someone who doesn't.

I just never thought that someone would be me.

I guess it's true.

You can't please everyone.

But one morning

I want to wake up

and not feel the weight

of disappointment

sitting cross legged on my chest;

cackling in triumph

as I roll over

and pledge to start anew-

tomorrow.

Because in tomorrow

I can be anyone I want.

I can be successful-

I can be proud-

I can pretend I'm not broken

covered in the shroud

of past mistakes.
