Tony The T-Rex...

Tony The T-Rex...

Tony the T-Rex is the biggest on the plain
But he never learnt to use his brain
He's long and heavy, wide and tall
But he never stops and thinks at all
Tony hardly ever goes to school
He's much too tough and acts all cool
He never joins in the fun and games
The others laugh and 'secretly' call him names
Then one day he was walking by the pool
A family of Stegasaurus were there keeping cool
They were having such fun paddling around the edge
But the baby went out too far, and fell over a ledge
The mother was terrified as Stegasaurus can't swim
Without hesitation brave Tony jumped in
So big and strong he pulled the baby to the side
A nice change from being the monster, that made everybody hide
The Stegasauras were so happy they told everyone in town
Tony was a hero, they even bought him a crown
He's still long and heavy, still wide and tall
But now Tony has lots of friends who aren't scared at all....

I loved this Jason!!  Children's verse is a difficult one to do because simplicity and storytelling in a style suited to kids is a tall task.  It is not easy to capture a child's imagination and for me this little poem was perfect.  My 3 year old daughter loves dinosaurs and she would LOVE this.  A wonderful tale with a lovely message.  A Tony T Rex giant 5 *s and a huge nom from me :)
