Tornado

I could never save her
Gripped by pain and darkness I saw her wither away
She had lived her whole life in  winter
In the darkness and storm of her past
every sight, I had of her
The I saw the sunshine dim
I tried to pull her out
I tried to be there, Â
even as the only person
For her
They said to let her be
Everyone has their problems
She cannot be help
Why do you care so much
Why does it matter
She is not worth it
I couldn’t
to turn a switch off in my heart and ignore her pain
act like I had never known her
I couldn’t
I just was never able to numb myself of her
She felt so deeply
Overwhelmed by life itself
All it did was cave into her
Crush her soul
And I was front and centre
Witness to her turmoil
She was my friend
I was her only friend
But the calm before the storm
I realised too late
It crept in so skilful
By the time I knew it I was in the eye
We had survived so many
Thus far I truly thought she would make it this time
She did not
I pray that her soul finds rest
This life swallowed her whole
This life choked her
Left her gasping
And finally took her last breath

Hi Gwen,
What a heartfelt beautiful tribute to a dear lost soul.  He never gave up on her when all others did. He, her only friend and good Samaritan, faithful till the end. Now praying for her soul to finally be at peace. Brings tears to your readers eyes. Welcome to Cosmo, Gwen. Please honor us with more of your lovely prose.
Peace and Love,
xox Larry
