Toxic Tainted Love

Toxic Tainted Love

Tainted Toxic Love

Toxic love, tainted and tethered
Apocalyptic amore of evil proportions
Infatuated—I’m infected by you
You got in my blood
Under my skin
You’re inside my head
My brain’s in a spin…
An infectious flood
It’s time to begin
I open real wide
And let you come in
Mushroom clouds weathered
Alabaster anathema
wracked by contortions
I’m radioactive
What are my options?
Death comes in a rush
Pus ā€˜neath my skin
My brain's turned to mush
I know I can’t win
We’ve both screwed the pooch
We’ve eaten the cat
My blood’s full of hootch
I like it like that…

mellifluous, playful and a delight to read, it feltĀ effortlessly written; not sure why perhaps your confidence comes through so much, it really is a pleasure to read, good poetry writing, enjoyed....thanks for sharing

I've been writing for many years, Christopher. I also participate in poetry slams and contests in coffee houses all over Cincinnati and the tri-state area.
There, you're required to perform your poetry live, by memory, in front of an open mic and live audience.
That's more than likely where the confidence comes into play.
I appreciate you taking an interest in my work.
I'm very grateful for your feedback.
