Tragically Beautiful

As skies turn to dark,
Flames disappear into the horizon,
Shadows envelop the land,
Creatures of all kinds rest their head,
But you my dear,
Seem to be lost in a sea of thought,
Trapped between realities,
You sit among trees,
Keeping eye on the sky, Turning ever so dark,
Why is she there?
You may ask.
You turn your head to the now night sky,
Dark,
Cold,
Empty,
As you wonder if all is lost,
One by one,
Tiny lights begin to envelop,
What once was dark,
Thousands,
Even billions.
As you peer closer over her shoulder,
A big white ball of light,
Begins to rise among lands,
Drowning the earth in its beauty,
Yet still casting shadows,
It was beautiful,
Almost as beautiful as her.
She noticed you and smiled,
Vanishing among the stars,
Leaving you,
Staring into the beauty of the night sky,
Never to be forgotten,
But reminded every time the skies grow dark.

Aye, an accurately put feeling about moments turning into that one special memory (in my case a moonrise above hills in the Provence, sitting among blooming cherry trees with my wife some 40 years ago🎑
