Poem -

Trojan Heart

Trojan Heart

Capricious tis a Trojan heart
Citadel secured to Cupid’s dart
Bound by armored locks
A nemesis doggedly knocks

Pursue not this dark horse
It harbors solely remorse
Spurn a yearning refrain
Infernal ardor lulls in vain.

Treacherous a fool’s design
Faint a love which is mine
Cast emotions to the sea
Prest by fervent decree

Fortified rod-iron steel
Encased it cannot feel
Breach not a fickle part
Damn, this wooden heart

Fan-tastic, Leeza! However, just for reference, you do not have a wooden heart, but a beautiful, warm, kind one.Β
Great writing!Β

Matthew.Β

PS. I did an x-ray while you were sleeping, and I think you ate some of my whittling(which would explain the wood in your body), and I could see your big, wonderful heart behind it. Thanks.Β

Well, to tell you the truth, I accidentally dropped the eggs I was cooking you, for your breakfast in bed, on the floor, and rather than take the trouble of making new ones(all that cracking and stuff), I just whittled some new ones out of the table leg in your kitchen. I hope you enjoyed them.Β

Oh poop! Maybe I was in the wrong house!! Are you at 1215 Monkeybumps Rd. East Lansing, Iowa 98289?? It looked like you...but then again I've never seen you, so it could have been Mrytle Fleenpopper III. Can you research this for me? I'd like to get her a new table. Thanks!Β

Hi Lisa!Β  That is one impenetrable heart you created in this write!Β  Ouch!Β  But you know, I think those steel-hearted souls are that way from years of being hurt and building a fortress to protect it.Β  Great theme and write.Β  You know how to pack a punch in tight rhymes...Awesome work. xo ;)

Can I just interject that Pinocchio once had a wooden heart, but turned out to be pretty nice in the end(after all his smoking, and verbal abuse of people). Thank you.Β

Shut up, Matt.Β

Will do.Β

Lol...Yeah, well that outcome rarely ever happens...In fact, I only know of that one fairy tale scenario that worked out in the end.Β  And it doesn't really count if it is a make believe story does it?Β  Usually a life of abuse and bad influence leads to one of those really bad after school special outcomes..lolΒ  You should really play the game, Quiplash if you haven't..on PS4...because you would be a master at coming up with hilarious answers....I play it with my kids and it is really funny.Β  You would rule at it. ;)Β

Hey Cheerie, you amazing person! I just saw this comment(sometimes I miss them if I don't see them). Thank you! And I've never heard of that game, but it sounds like fun. I love board games. I really like that Pictionary one, but my drawing is so horrendous that people can never guess my answers. lol. Once I drew some mutton, and my playing partner thought it was a chicken having a cerebral hemorrhage(we got half a point because no one knew what mutton was, but it was still an awful drawing...but it's fum). I also like Trivial Pursuit, but you would beat me like a rented mule in that, because you're so smart. We used to play this one game, when I was little called Masterpiece, in which all of the cards were famous paintings, and I loved that(because I loved the paintings). Have you ever heard of it?Β
Anyway, sorry about rambling. I guess I was just born a ramblin' man, trying to make a living, and doing the best I can. I was born in the back seat of a Greyhound bus rollin' down Highway 41...kidding...now I have to go listen to Ramblin' Man by The Allman Brothers(I'm sorry, but everything in my life seems to relate to music somehow. lol). You'rwe(you'rwe?? That's Swahili for you're) the best!Β

Interjectory point: Listen, I eat a lot of Little Caesar's pizza, and they actually put sawdust(wood pulp) in their pizza, to keep the cheese firm, or something, so that may be the sawdust feeling you are incurring, but it's totally safe to have other solutions, other than blood, coursing through your veins. Once, when I was having an operation(a gluteus maximus reduction surgery), the doctor actually forgot about the needle he put in my arm to take a vial of blood, and drained my entire circulatory system onto the floor. Anyway, when he came back in, and realized all my blood was gone, he tried to fill me back up without anyone noticing, but I have a rare blood type(Z-negative), and they didn't have any of that. So, he filled me up with apple juice(they were out of tomato, which would have looked better, but that damn Myrna Fillstein in Room 3B had drunken it all), and I never knew the difference...except that I've always had a curious fascination with that Johnny Appleseed story since then. So, please don't worry, OK?Β
Thanks,Β
