TROUBLED WATERS

TROUBLED WATERS

A flood of emotions
Unsettle my mind
Like troubled waters
Left behind
Thoughts keep stirring
Tossing, turning
Disturbing thoughts
Keep swirling, churning
Caught up in a whirlwind
It sets my mind off course
Rushing, surging, overflowing
With such a powerful force
I tell myself;
Don't let this moment overtake you
Eventually, it too shall pass
So I close my eyes and imagine
I'm lying in a field of grass
The sun embraces, holds me
The wind breathes upon my face
In that moment of mindfulness
The storm leaves without a trace
