The Truth About Masquerade Balls

Just as attending a masquerade

Metaphorically similar to the overcoming of a palisade

Dark shadows appear extremely vague

Extremely opaque

Masks that display personal aesthetic

Hide personalities of individuals who are hectic

Champagnes and wines share tastes of acerbic

Slightly removing feelings of stress like a drinkable cathartic

Spirits galvanize the human mind

Too many alcoholic amalgams make it hard to find

Stress and nerves begin to unwind

Civilized behavior is left far behind

To be innovative you must be reclusive

Non-inclusive and very exclusive

For sanity in this drunken world is elusive

And the way individuals greet one another is very intrusive

I stand off to the side and gaze at all and all

The beauty of the gowns that tend to enthrall

As the sequence shimmers amongst the walls of the great hall

The Characters of selfishness start to befall

As the levels of lust begin the generate

And powdered beauty begins to invigorate

This tempts the men of rich estates

And possess the self-shielding women to venerate

To venerate themselves and build a fence

To keep away the savage men and uphold abstinence

This tends to remove self-displeasure and build confidence

But seamlessly, lust overcomes and becomes a coincidence

The drinks cause the guests to hallucinate

The men and women soon start to emulate

Celestial bodies allow marriages to extricate

And soon enough barriers of hatred disintegrate
