The Truth Rings Like Civil Bells

The Truth Rings Like Civil Bells

You see it
Though, you look aside
You start, and immediately quit
And I ask you why

Why do you watch in disgust?
When it is you that deserve scorn
For it is you with tainted trust
You've had it since you were born

And yes, I watch
But I will walk away with purpose
The scene lives in every notch
But that I cannot completely stress

And I ask of you
Where do you stand?
Are you with me to
Or are you one of them

I hear them now
Soon comes hell
Still, it's amazing how
The truth rings like civil bells

Thanks! The Civil War period is one of my favorite historical events--a powerful time period.

I have, and I've seen the movie Glory. It has a sad ending, but it's the most accurate movie about the civil war I've ever seen. I'd like to read Twelve Years of Slave. I did read Chains witch was a magnificent book.
