Tsunami

Tsunami

Windowless days,
Happen to change.
The hearts, heads of the many.
Few understand, fail to comprehend, such famine when there is plenty…

Of food to eat, a harvest turned feast, when baskets are full to the brim.
When eyelids are heavy, the silence steady, such complacency settles in.

Starvation of one’s daily pleasures, these hidden fissures rear their ugly head.
The most peaceful of people, their pleasantries wilt to a trickle, their generosity fades away.

In such accounts, Charles Darwin announced, “Survival of the fittest” will make its way.
And under martial law, the world will ignore,
Such selfishness in the minds of today.

And unlike you dear reader,
I can see this wave, - as I sit on my castle upon these rocks.
I can see the saddened smiles and long handshakes and curtain calls.

As they look to me for a calm solution.
I simply watch it break.
