Turning of the tides

While wind watches willow stand and stare,
she gently strokes him.
Willow weeps his leaves into the waters,
looking at how his tears float off
on the stream.
Summer’s sun drifts off too,
folds itself in the leaves
and journeys on along the river.
Willow stares at a star
comfortingly showing itself
in between clouds.
Willow knows
it is time to go to sleep,
to hibernate homely between
its own roots.
Wind tells him: “I will chase the clouds away,
just you look at winter’s moon
and the wonders of Orion
on a frosty night.”
Willow shivers, wildly stretching his branches
one more time and falls into sleep,
until the time a next season
calls him back to work,
to catch the sun
in a next life
for birds to hide in.
Willow salutes the moon in his dreams.
Wind moves on after the sun
past the horizon,
around the world
to return to
willow by summer.

Such a sight that must be John, I really like the reflective tone of this piece, it makes your work very engaging. Kind regards. The Fish of the Sea.
Thank you so much, up to a year ago my wife was the only one who read my stuff (for over thirty years), but I am glad and find it doubly inspiring to write if people comment on my stuff. I enjoyed your ranting by fish very much btw, only from my workplace I couldn't leave a comment? Life is fun if you can share
Awww I know how it feels John! Believe it or not (and not to long agao) even I had did receive many comments. But you and this poem deserve it. And I dont mind if you cant comment, but it means so much that you had a read and enjoy my work! Yes what would life be like if we couldn't share with others!
