Twenty Twenty

The most perfect vision that one can have, is deemed to be twenty-twenty;

It’s when you can read a chart from several feet, and see every word aplenty!

My vision for you and your little Brother, was twenty-twenty too;

For I thought you both would live that long, before your time was through!

But my foresight was not as I had planned, for you did not make fourteen;

At thirteen years and seven months, came the sad time unforeseen!

For you left my side on a wintry night, a Monday of record blue;

On February sixteenth, twenty fifteen, I had say “goodbye” to you!

So today the “twenty”, that’s in my life, is not a celebration of all your years;

For it’s exactly that many months ago, since the culmination of all my fears!

Now, for twenty moons I’ve been mourning so hard, my little soulmate has gone away;

And as for your Brother, my little soulmate too, I cringe in fear each day!

For since you’ve been gone, he’s been very sad, and he’s slowed down a lot I see;

I know his heart is broken in half, for he loved you as much as did me!

I think now, that the second vision I had, will also fall short of my plan;

And I’ll be crying for him as I do for you, a totally heartbroken man!
