Two Souls Of One Heart

She took the eastbound midnight train.
Bought a ticket to anywhere but here.
Her many bruises would eventually heal,
An inner new strength she could now feel.
For this adopted child determined to escape,
To find a new home and new life to reshape.
All her fears she had pushed aside,
At least time now was on her side.
He took the westbound midnight train.
Bought a ticket to anywhere but here.
His many bruises would eventually heal,
An inner new strength he could now feel.
For this adopted child determined to escape,
To find a new home and new life to reshape.
All his fears he had pushed aside,
At least time now was on his side.
At the end of their long getaways,
Walking in a new day's morning rays.
They suddenly then saw each other.
That long look shared between the two,
And in that instant both of them knew,
A bond shared between two would grow,
Kismet's kind hand was finally on show.
Looking in each other's eyes eternally,
A moment frozen in time their destiny.
Each knew they were to belong together,
Joined forever through life's varied weather.
Two souls longing for the other,
Two souls finding one another.
Two souls that will never part,
Two souls now of one heart.

Thanks Hj and hang in there. Got work tomorrow but will read more tomorrow evening.
Love it Shaun! It is a superb narrative poem AND it has a happy ending. They find each other. This is a lovely romantic write that delivers a worthy story to its reader. I LOVE it! ๐๐๐๐ x
Tina many thanks and praise from you good self is priceless.
I'm a sucker for a happy ending, why look down in grave when the invitation to look up at the stars is on offer. No contest.
Hang in there and enjoy poetry and life.
