ULTIMATUM

ULTIMATUM

The aliens had been watching the war in Ukraine,
they positioned a large craft over Moscow to remain,
there was an affinity with Earth, the place of their birth,
wanted to know what this terrible conflict was worth.

They delivered an ultimatum: remove army or we'll destroy you,
we're not from the 'West' - missiles won't work whatever you do,
if you ever return, we'll be back to destroy your city,
it's time to renege, realize your errors and take pity.

The Russians scurried around, the craft blocking light,
people gazed upwards, their turn to have a terrible fright;Β
the army was withdrawn leaving complete devastation,
aliens had done what they could to help that poor nation.

The craft left the sky, there was no power or water, a vacuum,
their work was done and disappeared the other side of the moon.
