Unclouded

I wish to see with eyes
unclouded by hate, soft clarity -- white as new snow, precious as spiderweb dew or red falling leaves
with winds that forgive like trembling trees
there are ghosts all around us but we are unalarmed and quiet tonight as we drink the moonlight
the world is cursed
so we dream
so we dream, and cling to soft spirits, creaking, awake
we are not angry or bellowing or stupid from hate
cursed and dismal as this world may be,
where so much is rotten and dying but we
are calm and still with glimmering eyes reflecting
starlight; so dazed by these forces, though frightful and trying are and
still we
are alive and awake
I wish to see with eyes
unclouded by hate
